There are several big football games in both the college and pro levels this weekend. Here are the biggest ones.
Miss State 9-0 vs Alabama 8-1. Alabama is on the outside looking in at the playoffs. Miss State is undefeated and this is one of their last remaining tests. The winner will be in the playoff and the loser well we will see where they drop. Alabama with 2 losses could be out of the top 10. Miss State with a loss it would be hard to believe that they fall so far down the rankings.
Florida State 9-0 vs Miami 6-3. This was once the biggest game of the season with national championship implications for both teams. FSU has toed the line on losing for the whole season. They are ripe for an upset. Can Miami do it? This would be the biggest win for the Canes in a long time. The game is in Miami too.
Arizona State 8-1 vs Oregon State 4-5. On paper this looks like a lopsided matchup. And it is. Arizona State should win this game easy. But it’s harder to play when your expected to win against being an upstart. Will the emotion of beating Notre Dame last week be all gone.
Auburn 7-2 vs Georgia 7-2. Will there be a 2 loss team from the SEC in the playoffs. Auburn had a tough loss last week. They aren’t so far down the chain either. With a game against Alabama still on the schedule left they can with some breaks get back into the top 4.
Bengals 5-3-1 vs Saints 4-5. Both teams desperately need a rebound win. The Bengals were smoked by the Browns and the Saints let one get away against the Niners. With their whole division over .500 the Bengals must keep pace. And the Saints whole division is under .500 and the Saints need take control.
Lions 7-2 vs Cardinals 8-1. The first game for the Cards officially as Drew Stanton’s team. How will Stanton handle it knowing he has the keys to the car. The Lions learned how to win without some of their top offensive players. The winner is in the driver’s seat for the # 1 seed in the NFC.
Colts 6-3 vs Patriots 7-2. Andrew Luck reminds me more of Tom Brady than Peyton Manning because of how physical and fiery he is. This should be an entertaining game. Pats need to win to keep pace on the top seed.
