Throwback Logo Of The Day 11-27

THROWBACK LOGO OF THE DAY 11-27

Today’s logo has a few interesting twists.  We have a name change and a move to a new city twice and a merge and I will post all the different logo’s and uniforms associated with this team who is still playing today in yet another city.

The California Golden Seals were a team in the NHL from 1967-1976. Initially named California Seals, the team was renamed Oakland Seals partway through the 1967–68 season, and then to California Golden Seals in 1970. The Seals were one of six teams added to the league as part of the 1967 NHL expansion. However, the Seals were never successful at the gate, and eventually moved to Cleveland to become the Cleveland Barons in 1976.  After 2 years we merged with this team and moved to their city.  This team was based in Minnesota and now has moved to another city.  The Barons remain the last franchise in the four major North American sports leagues to cease operations.
