The New York Mets signed ace pitcher Jacob deGrom to a huge contract extension in the amount of five years for $137.5 million. The Mets kept someone who is arguably their best player and the face of the franchise. In an off season where the Mets did nothing like they normally do, this was the tip of the iceberg. Extending deGrom was the biggest move by far, but look at what this franchise has done leading into the season. Are the Mets becoming a big-market team?
What a week for the Mets. For those who have been a fan and follow this team every year you know nothing is easy and nothing seems to be done the right way. But if there has ever been a team that has had the week this team has I dare you to find it.
Monday: With a off day and where the Mets were energized by the acquisitions of Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson over the weekend they rebound to beat the Dodgers the last 2 games of a 4 game series that saw them break the scoreless streak of Zach Grienke who was out pitched by Jacob deGrom
