NUKE MELTS DOWN OUTLAWS IN A DOMINANT PERFORMANCE
Ebby Calvin Laloosh “Nuke” was brilliant tonight as the Wonderboys defeated Outlaws for the second straight day 9-0. Davis Birch hit a 3 run HR in the top of the 4th to break a scoreless tie and Nuke goes the distance striking out 15 Outlaws in route to a 3 hit shutout. Roy Hobbs also hit a 3 run HR his second HR in as many days as the Wonderboys slugged out 12 hits to improve to 2-0 on the young season.
Daniel Bryan pitched good for 3 innings but the wheels came off in the 4th and 5th when he was replaced by Baron Corbin. There was no one who was hitting Nuke today. Only Elias didn’t fall victim to the strikeout barrage. Lio Rush, Rusev and Drew McIntyre all were fanned 3 times each.
Wonderboy skipper Pop Fisher said after the game “That is as good as I have ever seen Nuke look. If he pitches like this, he is going to win a lot of games with how good our offense is.”
Outlaws manager Vince McMahon said afterwards “That was an embarrassing performance for everyone who stepped on that field.” When asked about his team’s 0-2 start he added “Shane and I don’t accept mediocrity. We will replace anyone who does not do their job.”
Steve Nebraska pitches for the Wonderboys tomorrow as they go for the sweep as the Apex Predator Randy Orton gets the ball for the Outlaws.
BROTHERHOOD TOPS GIRL POWER 6-5
Brotherhood blows a 5-0 lead but recovers to edge out Girl Power 6-5. Roman Reigns and The Big Show each had RBI hits in the top half of the 1st inning. Jimmy Uso hit his second HR in as many games in the second followed by Big Show’s second RBI hit in the third making the score 4-0 Brotherhood after 3 innings. In the fourth inning things got interesting.
AJ Styles had a RBI single in the top half of the inning. Brotherhood has now scored in every inning off of Girl Power starting pitcher Bayley. Brotherhood starting pitcher Seth Rollins was on a run of retiring 7 straight batters heading into the bottom of the 4th inning when Girl Power broke out. Ronda Rousey and Mandy Rose each had RBI hits then Sarah Logan had the big blow hitting a 3 run HR to tie the game at 5.
Brotherhood manager Titus O’Neill pulled Rollins after 4 innings and handed the ball to Sin Cara who fired 3 scoreless innings to stabilize the game. Girl Power manager Paige also made a decision to stick with Bayley who finished strong by hurling 3 scoreless innings until being replaced by Alicia Fox in the top of the 8th. Just 2 batters into the inning was all the Brotherhood needed to re take the lead as Jimmy Uso drove in Apollo Crews with the eventual game winning run. Xavier Woods was much better as he saved his second straight game.
“I loved the fight my team showed today” says Paige. Tomorrow’s game has Becky Lynch on the mound for the Girls and Robert Roode getting the ball for the Brotherhood.
LEGENDARY BEATS WILD THINGS BEHIND BRETT HART 4-3
Legendary rode some small ball and smart play to a 4-3 victory over Eddie Harris and Wild Things in a very fast paced game. Pedro Cerrano hit his second HR of the season, a 2 run shot in the second inning to open the scoring. Harris was cruising through the first 3 innings and Wild manager Lou Brown was thinking we will have our second straight strong starting pitching performance just like it was drawn up before the season. But not so fast.
After a Randy Savage double pushed CM Punk to third base with no one out in the 4th you knew Harris was in trouble. Andre the Giant hit a sacrifice fly and Hacksaw Jim Duggan followed by hitting his second HR of the year giving Legendary a 3-2 lead. Brett Hart who settled down and was now in the middle of a brilliant 5 inning stretch Kept Wild Things off balance.
Edge’s RBI double scored HHH who had just stolen his second base of the game made the score 4-2 Legendary. In the top of the 8th inning Hart was replaced by Devon Dudley who gave up a HR to Kelly Leak leading off the inning to cut the deficit to one. But that was as far as they got. The Perfect Closer Curt Henning pitched a perfect top of the 9th inning to close out the game.
The rubber match of this series has Sammy Bodeen pitching for Wild Things against Legendary’s Chris Jericho.
